SCENARIO 1
Called my designer yesterday to ask for his availability for an assignment. After some input, he said yes and I am a happy bunny. As the design & finish product are different every time, I will get him to quote me his fees every time too. His replied more or less “it’s just a simple work Shu, is RMxxx reasonable?” My replied was “yes, very”. I like his work, his design suits my taste well, I trust him, we have good chemistry & he carries an attitude. With his rates that competitive enough, I feel good & didn’t bargain for his artwork. If you bring me an alternative with cheaper rate, I might not hire that person. I will not risk my service or product for just a cheaper price without the package I have with the existence so far.
SCENARIO 2
During a discussion with a client recently, after some points she shared her experience of getting a photography service for a family function. She requested a service from photographer who is an old friend and also a professional known for a good work. Unfortunately that person will not be available on the date requested and a junior assigned to cover the said event. After receiving the photos of the event, turned out to be a disappointed set. Message of unhappiness then conveyed to the friend and some rectification were to be done. My comment to her story was, you hire a photographer because you like their work, you are comfortable with them & have a trust with. Thus, you don’t bargain of their rate as you respect the value of their work. You don’t hire a photographer just to get photos with their lower rate. Or else you are taking a risk. Not exactly the scenario happened to the client but I hope you get my point.
SCENARIO 3
My regular mamak restaurant, realizing every time we walk in, there will be three (3) cook. One (1) for mamak food & two (2) for Thai food. With a vision in my mind of the food to order, with the aroma & the taste by my favorite cook, I am half way to my happiness. Most of the time, while driving around finding parking space I will peep if the Thai food stall is open or not. If it’s close, unless I want to have mamak food, I will drop by. Or else I will look for next best thing. If it’s open but when I walk in & discovered that my favorite cook is not around that day, I feel sad. I am pretty sure that I will not have a satisfying meal that round. The cook become my favorite because he cook tasty food & I trust him every time when I place my order. I can see that he cook passionately.
the trusted name that suits the taste bud (from my mobile)
God don’t give us the sixth sense for nothing. I am happy to live my life with the trust that I have to the good people around me. Love!
