It’s just too beautiful to ignore. The Google doodle yesterday captures my eyes. It was for Charles Dickens’ 200th birthday. Try to count how many lives grew up with his stories. It is a good feeling to see how certain beautiful things being appreciated.
The quote I shared in my recent portrait workshop with the participants:
“There are only two styles of portrait painting: the serious and the smirk.”

Spot on! I couldn’t agree with you more, beautiful things should be appreciated, and I also am in agreement with the Dickens’ quote (smirks)….
Thanks for this post and for sharing!
It’s wonderful you like it…just a simple gesture of appreciation.
Thank you…
(i reckon you wrote a novel-yeah..i clicked to your blog!) COOl!
Thanks! Yeah, I wrote a novel, and Charles Dickens is one of the characters in it, so on the anniversary of his birthday I’ve been clicking around, seeing what others are saying and doing. I’ve read where others are trying to figure out who all the characters are in the Google doodle- any thoughts on this? I can only name a few…
